AUTOGRAPHED Straight Talk from Wild Thing Mitch Williams

With Darrell Berger, forword by John Kruk

So the 1993 season ends with Joe Carter’s homer off Mitch. I’m playing first. The first thing I thought to myself was, okay, its over, we had a helluva run. We finished last the year before LAST.

We thought we had a chance to be better, but we had not dreamed of getting s far as we got.We played hard through the last pitch. Mitch put everything he had intro that pitch, just like he had all saeason.

Back in the clubhouse we tried to get him into the trainer’s room, the traditional postgame place to hide from reporters. ‘You don’t have to talk to them’ we told him. He said it was his responsibility, part of what you sign on for when you play. (read more of Kruk’s foreword when you order the book, like..) I was very disapponited when the Phillies traded Mitch a few weeks later.I think managaement panicked. John Kruk former Phillies teammate.
