September 2, 2009 Press Release (For Immediate Release) Dogwood Stable Names New Colt “Lou Brissie” Dogwood Stable, the originator of Thoroughbred racing partnerships and one of the country’s leading racing stables, has named one of its young Thoroughbreds Lou Brissie in honor of the Philadelphia A’s pitcher and World War II hero.
The late Mickey Vernon was a frequent visitor to the Society’s Hatboro Museum. On the day he was in signing his Hartland figurines we had a very interesting visit from a lassie all the way from Ireland. Ms Beth Mccullagh of Omaga County, Tyrone stopped in to view the Museum artifacts.
