Danny Murtaugh Hall of Fame
Ballot
Hello All,
Many of you probably already know that my grandfather is once again
on the ballot for the Hall of Fame. The vote is on December 6, and
the competition is strong. If you would like to help his chances,
you can write to the Hall of Fame Veterans' Committee Members before
the vote.
Please don’t feel you have to get too into the statistics
– they know all that. Please focus on what he meant to the
Pirates, what he meant to Pittsburgh, what he meant to baseball,
and – most of all – what he meant to you personally.
There are a few candidates with similar stats. From what I’ve
learned about my grandfather in the past two years, I doubt there
are any that match his character.
The HOF will forward letters to the 16 members of the Veterans’
Committee IF each envelope has the return address of the sender
and the proper postage applied.
In other words, you can send a package to the HOF containing 16
letters, each in a stamped envelope with your return address and
the “to” section left blank. Please enclose a note asking
to have the letters forwarded to the committee members in support
of Danny Murtaugh. The HOF will put a label on each one and put
them in the mail. I’ll put a list of the voters at the end
of this email in case you want to personalize your letters.
The package should be sent to:
Jackie Brown
Administration Asst. – Communications
Baseball Hall of Fame
25 Main Street
Cooperstown, NY 13326
The vote is going to be EXTREMELY close so any help that you have
time to provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for all of your help. If you have any questions, please
let me know.
Take care,
Colleen Hroncich
