1913 - After a one year absence, Mack's A's again defeat
McGraws Giant this time in five games . Remember, it was McGraw
who in earlier in the decade, in a sarcastic tone, labeled Connie
Mack's Athletics as "White Elephants".

in four games to complete one of Connie Mack's most devastating
losses.

defeats the National League Champion Chicago Cubs in five games,
highlighted by the A's record, 10 run 4th inning eruption in the
A's Game 4 win.

in a World Series, their attempt to make it a three peat was averted
by a better St. Louis Cardinals team in 7 games. Twenty three
years later, in 1954, the beloved Philadelphia Athletics would
play their last game in Philadelphia.
