Willow Grove Foundation Awards Grant to Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society, Inc. |
The Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society, Inc. (PAHS) received a grant from the Willow Grove Foundation to help support their operating expenses. PAHS, located in the borough of Hatboro, is dedicated to recognizing history of the Philadelphia Athletics American League baseball club. Boasting more then 900 members nationwide, PAHS is the largest society of its type in the nation. The Hatboro facility contains a museum, library, and gift shop, and is the centerpiece of the society's operations. Established in November 1998, the museum contains an outstanding collection of photographs, uniforms, programs, baseballs, and all sorts of reminiscences from baseball's historic past - including prestigious awards loaned by the Connie Mack family. While the museum commemorates the A's in particular, it also celebrates baseball in general and in addition, pays homage to the Philadelphia Phillies. The library contains more then 1,500 books on baseball as well as baseball related videos. The Willow Grove Foundation is pleased to help PAHS in its steadfast dedication to the continuance of tradition and history. The Willow Grove Foundation is funded by Willow Grove Bank, to promote activities that enhance the quality of life in the communities served by the bank.
