Society Finishes Museum Renovations
in Time for 100th Celebration
By Ernie Montella
Museum Chairman Carl Goldberg, and Society Vice President Steve Harlem
had one thought in mind when Mike Fesnak informed them in January
that his Stamp Committee had set aside April 28th this year to celebrate
the 100th anniversary of the A's first game ever, April 26, 1901.
That thought was to escalate their efforts and complete the upgrades
to the Society's Museum & Library. As these photographs show, they
made their goal with time to spare, (well, about 12 hours time).
In any event the comments from the huge crowd that jammed the Museum
indicated that once again all of the planning, labor, and fund-raising
efforts, by a small dedicated group, has once again succeeded in
it's goal.
