A's Society president David Jordan chats with
long time sportswriter Stan Hochman.

Virgil stops for a moment to admire the Shibe
Park turnstile and commented "I probably
walked through one of these every time we
came to Shibe Park."

In the period from 1909-1954 over 25 million fans of the Philadelphia Athletics passed through a turnstile much the same as this one. Considering that during that same period we experienced 2 World Wars sandwiched in by a depression, the Philadelphia Athletics are still Philadelphia's Most Successful Professional Sports Franchise. (As a humorous aside, that 25 million fans does not include all those fans that sat on the rooftops along 20th Street.)

Atwater/Kent employee could not wait to
meet the guest of the day.

Viki Sand, Atwater/Kent Executive Director
along with Stewart Desmond, Director of Research flank Society prez Jordan moments before the start of the days events.

taken at Shibe Park on April 16,1946. Recgonize
anyone, Jack commented, "this photo brought
back some fond memories."

Bill Bozman, Virgil Trucks, Ronnie Joyner
and Jack Boyett take a well deserved "breather."

Author and historian Bill Kashatus lectures the
packed room about his latest book,
