Get ready for The Franklin Institute's Spring Training Day 2006!
The Franklin Institute teams up with Comcast SportsNet and the
Philadelphia Phillies for a day of spring baseball excitement at
the annual Spring Training Day event, on Saturday, March 18, 2006
from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Possible celebrity appearances include
local mascots, Comcast SportsNet anchors, Phillies announcer Dan
Baker, and Phillies organist Paul Richardson. Representatives from
the Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society will be on hand displaying
artifacts from baseballs golden era, and The Phillies Phanstormers
will also be around to help with the festivities.
Fun contests and exciting prizes from Comcast SportsNet, The Philadelphia
Phillies, The Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society, Philadelphia
Sports Club, Jeff Manto's Baseball Camp, The Franklin Institute,
and many more!
Events that were popular last year included Jeff Manto's baseball
camp training, functional training by Philadelphia Sports Club,
and the Comcast SportsNet "Kids Casting Call," where children
ages 8 14 competed for a chance to win tickets to a Phillies
game and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Comcast SportsNet broadcast
booth during a game at Citizens Bank Park.
The Spring Training Day event will also include:
- Make and take activities for kids
- Prizes and giveaways from Comcast SportsNet,
Coca-Cola, and The Philadelphia A's
- Display car from Cherry Hill Volvo
- Over 3,000 guests in attendance
