Lansdale Cub Scouts Visit Society
Museum
Mike Fesnak one of the Society's Museum coordinator's with the cooperation
of Brian of BJ's Sportcards in Hatboro, Pa, arranged for 3 groups
of Cub Scouts from Lansdale, Pa to visit the Society's Museum to
learn more about the history of baseball in Philadelphia. The tour
director shown here is the A's Society Gary Hattal explaining to
the youngsters the contents of the Museum showcases featuring Babe
Ruth, Lou Gehrig , Jimmie Foxx, Sam Chapman and their favorite Shoeless
Joe Jackson. Each scout received a "door prize" of baseball
cards and an invitation to return. Beginning in October the Society
offered evening hours in the Museum/Library to encourage more interest
from the local community. The evening hours are Monday-Wednesday
& Friday 6pm to 8pm. Beginning in early 2007 the Society will
offer a baseball "Movie of the Month" night with its first
feature being "Field of Dreams" Refreshments will be served.
