video1.jpg - 11630 BytesLocal film-maker Jim Rosin, with the cooperation and assistance of the Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society, has produced an hour-long documentary titled, fittingly enough, "The Philadelphia Athletics: 1901-1954." The film, narrated by Philadelphia broadcasting legend Bill Campbell and featuring comments by some of your favorite A's players, was shown on WHYY (Channel 12 in Philadelphia) at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday September 25. It was then repeated at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday September 28.

“A one hour documentary that offers a compelling historical account of the A’s once the far more popular and more successful baseball team representing Philadelphia. It marvelously conveys an old time era when baseball was played on warm summer afternoons and really was the National Pastime”....The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Producer Jim Rosin has put together the ultimate story of Connie Mack’s Philadelphia Athletics from their very beginning to their demise after the 1954 season. A’s fans in Kansas City and Oakland along with the still present throng of Philadelphia A’s fans to treat themselves to an hour of prime time viewing....Jack Laufer, Media, Pa.
