1943 All-Star Game & Shibe Park
The 11th annual Major League All-star game took place at Shibe Park
on the evening of July 13,1943. It represented the first time this
distinguished event came to Philadelphia and the first time it was
played under the lights. DiMaggio, (Vince not Joe or Dom) of the
Pirates had a stellar game with almost hit for the cycle missing
only a double. But it was Bobby Doerr's three run home run that
put the American league in the winners circle 5-3.
The 1943 All-Star program is one of the most sought after of all
All-Star game programs because of the World War ll scrap drives.
In their original form they sell for hundreds of dollars. We are
making available a limited number of replicas of this 58 page beauty
filled with statistics, and photos of baseball during our nations
troubling times.
With your purchase of this replica
1943 All-Star game program, you will also receive an actual size
copy in color of the All-Star game ticket shown here!
