Chicago Cubs: In the rarest
of the two, the Cubs team is shown in Philadelphia’s Baker Bowl
the home at that time of the Philadelphia Phillies The Cubs are
shown in their road uniforms. Since three games were played at Shibe
Park home of the Athletics on October 11, 12,& 13, and two games
had been played at Wrigley Field home of the Cubs on Oct. 8 & 9,
this photo had to be taken on October 10, 1929. The Series never
went back to Chicago. This never before seen photograph was obtained
from the family of Connie Mack.

Philadelphia Athletics:
This photo was taken at Shibe Park since the Athletics are in their
stunning white A's uniforms. For all we know it could have been
taken on October 12, 1929 before game 4 when the A's down 8 to 0
in the bottom of the 7th inning scored those ever memorable 10 runs
and turn a sure loss into their 3rd win of the Series. The next
day, trailing the Cubs 2 to 0 going into the bottom of the 9th they
again turned a sure loss into a Series clinching win as they went
on to score 3 runs to win 3-2. Many even to this day consider the
1929 World Series as one of the most exciting of all time. Here's
your opportunity to own a memory of baseball's fall classics.
