The first game will be played at the Days Inn on Easton Road in Horsham, Pa featuring special guests, free hot dogs & popcorn and free admission. A portion of the proceeds have been promised to benefit the Special Olympics. The starting lineup of our special guests includes regulars, Bobby Shantz, Joe Astroth, & Lou Brissie. Representing other stars from the 1950/1960's are Dick Tracewski & Bob Friend. A very special treat will be Ladies from the All-American Professional Girls Baseball League such as Salty Ferguson & Joannne McComb. A very special attraction for both days will be the appearance of representatives of David Hunts Auctions Inc. of Exton,Pa who will be on site to appraise, free of any charges, those collectibles you have had hidden in your closet all these years wondering your grandfather or father saved hidden away all these years.

As of press time the Society’s Special Projects Committee is currently in the process of pursuing other special guests yet to be confirmed. An autograph session is scheduled from 11am-2pm for all guests Another feature will be the availability of the Limited Edition Hartland figurines designed this year for the Society by the popular Hartland LLC a leader in the field., included in these nostalgic scarce collectibles are, Lou Brissie, Mickey Vernon & a rare dual mounted figurine of one of Connie Mack’s favorite battery mates Joe Astroth & Bobby Shantz.. A Hartland figurine special discounted show price will be made available on both days to all attendees. Sorry, no pre orders on show pricing.

 

Sundays “NITE CAP” moves down the road a short bit to The Williamsons Restaurant and will virtually include the same guests. A few sports memorabilia dealers have been invited including those from the non -sports Crafts Field. Doors will open at 10 am for this part of the days events.

 

A special by reservation only full course dinner is scheduled at 4pm.

The Rabbi Shmuel Jablon currently the principal of the Torah Academy in Wynnewood, PA will be the pre dinner 4pm speaker Rabbi Jablon who admits to being a huge A’s Bobby Shantz fan has recently moved into this area from his previous position in a Cleveland, Ohio, suburb. Hopefully he will not remind us of that “almost” 1948 season. His topic will be ''Tradition, Tradition, What's Jewish about Baseball?"
